Interested in sponsoring a show? On Broadway Thespians (OBT) is looking for donors for RENT The Musical, coming to the Hales Center for the Performing Arts in March 2025.
Donors help bring the majesty of live theatre to life in our community. In order to keep our ticket costs affordable, we rely on outside donations to help fund the costs of our shows. Thank you for your consideration.

Your donation not only ensures a rich cultural experience for our community but also allows your existing and new customers to see your company’s value for our community.
OBT is a 501(c)(3 ) organization and all your donations are tax deductible.
OBT has been an official organization since 1994. Upon its creation, it was housed in the small On Broadway Theatre in downtown Coos Bay; which could seat about 60 people in a full house. When OBT was created in 1994, we put on numerous plays each year, including dramas, comedy, children’s productions, and musicals.
OBT has always run on the hard work of volunteers and been self-funded by our box office and concession proceeds, as well as our generous donors. Unfortunately, we did not own the On Broadway Theatre, which was sold in 2006, and OBT was without a home. Ever resourceful, we took the opportunity to perform in various venues throughout the community, including the Egyptian Theatre, Stray Katz Dinner Theatre, and the Pony Village Mall. Ultimately, we ended up at The Liberty Theatre (Home of Little Theatre on the Bay) for an extended stay as a guest organization in the September slot of their show line-up from 2011 to 2018.
In September 2019, OBT moved to a new location and presented the musical Mamma Mia! at the Hales Center for the Performing Arts at Southwestern Oregon Community College. Since then we have been performing there with a wonderful, generous arrangement with the college.
